Can I roll over a 401(k)?

October 27, 2026

Yes. Many investors fund their CREB IRA with savings from a former employer's 401(k) or another IRA.

How a direct rollover works

  1. Open a self-directed IRA with Equity Trust through CREB.
  2. Ask your 401(k) plan or current IRA provider for a direct rollover or transfer to Equity Trust.
  3. Once the funds arrive, they're invested in CREB bonds, from $10,000.

Avoid tax surprises

Move the money directly between custodians. If a check is made out to you, taxes may be withheld and you generally have 60 days to complete the rollover. Rollovers from a current employer's plan may have restrictions.
