Why can CREB offer higher yields than savings products?

October 27, 2026

A savings account pays whatever rate the bank sets, and the bank keeps most of what it earns by lending your deposits out. CREB works more directly: investor capital goes into real estate loans and Treasuries, and the bond pays a stated rate from that income.

Why the rate is higher

  • Bridge lending pays more. Property borrowers who need speed pay higher fixed rates than conventional bank loans.
  • Fewer intermediaries. CREB is sold directly online, without advisers, brokers or fund layers taking fees.
  • No fees to investors. CREB charges no management, account or withdrawal fees.

The trade-off

Savings accounts are FDIC insured and CREB bonds are not. A higher yield comes with investment risk, including the possible loss of principal. See the main risks of investing in CREB.

CREB bonds are investments, not bank deposits. They are not FDIC insured, and you could lose money, including principal.
